(Not so) Great Scottish Run

I was feeling great!  My 1:26 half marathon pb was set to be smashed at the GSR on Sunday and I had the Kilmacolm Half a fortnight later. Running wise, things were going well.

Certainly no need to train hard in the week leading up to the race, my fitness levels and pace were there.  But oh no. I went along to circuits and pushed it on the shuttle runs without warming up properly. I sprinted hard and felt a sharp pain in my Achilles when braking and turning. Race over.

Physio says it's a small vertical tear so I'm looking at around 4-6 weeks of recovery with cross training from next week and light running from week two.  Could be worse I guess.

We wandered down to Bellahouston to watch the race with Barry Dave and Liz. Well done everyone who ran it!
